Please attend one or more of these eConsult stakeholder meetings and make it known that mental health care providers deserve inclusion in the eConsult program. This is an expensive system that allows PHI to be communicated between PCP and specialists. Having only medical specialists included, and not mental health care providers, changes access to care, and therefore is a MHPAEA Parity concern.

HCPF is announcing eConsult which would allow exchange of PHI between PCP and specialists.

CMS has evidence that care coordination between mental health and medical providers improves care and saves money. But HCPF isn't including mental health care in this important and expensive information sharing system. This changes access for medical and therefore excluding mental health is a Parity concern.
